Natural Anti-Aging Treatments
Anti-aging is a term that is being used to target a broad spectrum of groups with different interests. This makes our search for the particular type of anti-aging information we are looking for on the internet more difficult. This article will discuss some of the discoveries of anti-aging in the scientific and medical communities.
There are many exciting developments in gene therapy and adult stem cell technology on the horizon that I will write about in future articles. Many of these anti-aging treatments are still years away from being available to the general public. For now, it may be more important to learn what we can do right now to lead a longer, healthier life.
Aging is the process where you gradually weaken and lose bodily function. Humans are not programmed to die. There is no gene that switches on at a certain age to cause death. The human body only has the capacity to promote self-healing up to a certain point. It is more that we neglect to do the things that will help remain active and healthy as we age. Anti-aging doctors and scientists seek to understand the aging process and provide us with innovations and treatments to preserve our youthful characteristics.
Most people don’t know that there are things that happen as we age that we can change. Anti-aging research has made significant progress in the last few years. Many of the declines of aging can now be blocked or reversed. Calorie restriction has been shown to lower the incidence of cancer and lower the onset of other age-related diseases in animal studies. The studies suggest that if there are health benefits of calorie restriction in humans, some of those benefits could be obtained by reducing calories even in old age.
Taking a daily multivitamin is another strong recommendation. Make sure that it contains vitamins A, B6, C, D, E, calcium, phosphorus, zinc, niacin and magnesium. Take antioxidants to fight the oxidation caused by free radicals. Many people look and feel younger after taking the vitamins and antioxidants as natural anti-aging treatments. Keeping your homocysteine levels below eight. It has been shown to be age promoting at higher levels.

Exercise is another important anti-aging tool. Strength and flexibility are necessary no matter what your age. Walking stairs is one of the best anti-aging workouts. Calisthenics and yoga are other good methods. It is also good to have some type of cardio program. Interval training in short bursts has been shown to be as effective, or even more so, that sustained cardio for thirty minutes or more. Dr Al Sears has an excellent program called PACE that you can learn more about here.
Human growth hormone (HGH), is recommended by some doctors that offer natural anti-aging treatments. It can increase energy, enhance sexual performance, build muscle and bone, eliminate wrinkles, enhance immune function, elevate mood, and improve cholesterol levels and vision. There is some controversy about using HGH and it can only be obtained through your doctor. An alternative may be to use the insulin growth-like factor called IGF-1. You can find out more about this product here.
The suggestions above are natural anti-aging treatments that you can implement right away. The sooner you start an anti-aging plan, the sooner you will be able to slow the aging process and regain some of your youthful vigor.
